OMR -
Optical Marking Recognition:
OMR and ICR technologies
represent some of the most advanced and most productive
breakthroughs in data processing. These systems take
OCR to a higher level allowing us to process items such as
surveys, tests, registration forms, and evaluation forms at
much higher speeds and much lower expense.
Overview:
OMR - Optical Marking
Recognition is an old technology pumped up to use
the newest advances in hardware and software to really
become an efficient data processing tool. This
technology started out as a way to read forms like those
bubble-oval tests used in high schools and colleges
throughout the world. Now however it allows check
boxes, slash marks, and a wide variety of options to insure
that the end-user doesn't have to be using that Number 2
pencil and drawing inside the lines.
ICR
is the most advanced character
recognition created. This software will read
handwritten printed information, convert it to digital text,
then prompt a data operator to verify any items difficult to
translate. This is incredibly accurate for properly
designed forms that can coach the person filling out the
form in a user-friendly manner.
The
Marriage of OMR/ICR:
We generally find
that either ICR or OMR alone can cause applications that
either need too much verification or they provide documents
that cannot gather enough dynamic data like names, address,
email addresses and so forth.
Data Entry Group combines
the two technologies to allow forms that gather the dynamic
data like contact information and comments with checkbox or
circle your choice questions like those used in most survey
or testing environments.
We have the hardware,
software, and staff necessary to process and verify millions
of these forms per month.

The Process:
Form Development is a crucial step in
making sure that your project is successful. If you
already have a form we can probably work with it.
However, we highly recommend that we assist you in the
development of the form. This will improve accuracy,
reduce the price that we charge for the project, and
increase processing speed.
Distributing and Collection of Forms:
Generally this is your job. However, many clients
prefer that we take delivery of completed
forms directly from their regional locations, major events,
or actual end users. We are glad to discuss options
that can work well for all involved.
Processing and Verification:
Depending upon your need for speed, most
jobs can be completed in 3-5 days. Some projects can
be completed as soon as same day but obviously timing
affects overall cost of project.
Disposal of Forms:
We can either return your documents via UPS or similar
carrier or can arrange for secure and confidential shredding
of documents.
Delivery of Data:
Data can be delivered to you via FTP site, email, CD, DVD,
or in some cases tape backup. Data can be output to
various formats of Excel, CSV, dBase, Access, MS SQL, XML,
or other.

Data Entry Group for a quick review of your project to see
what is the best solution for your needs.
Cost:
Every project is different so prices vary considerably.
However, we see OMR/ICR projects as some of the lowest per
page costs of any work that we do. Our customers are
always pleased with our pricing! Give us a shot.
Features:
Accuracy:
Data Entry Group's professional staff understands the
importance of getting your data right the first time.
They will not only work cautiously but will flag
questionable data so that others can review or
research to get your data to the level that your application
requires.
Scalability: We can have over
4400 computers online and working for you within 24 hours
notice. With multiples shifts this means you can get over
10,000 man-days worth of work done in one single 24 hour
period.
Multiple Shifts: Our
staff works multiples shifts to insure that even the largest
projects get done on time, every time. Plus, this
schedule allows such scheduling benefits as getting the data
in the morning after submitting in in the afternoon.
Cost Effective: Because we have
the staff, equipment, software and expertise, you don't have
to. This means that we can generally provide your
services as less than 25% of using in-house services.
